If you love dark chocolate and love to savour a small piece after a weekend meal, it may seem indulgent to drink a chocolate milkshake for breakfast, but be assured, this smoothie is healthy with plants and proteins like nut butter and protein powder. Besides, smoothies are a perfectly healthy snack to beat an afternoon energy slump.

 

Health benefits –

·       Raw, powdered cacao is a natural antioxidant, rich in magnesium, a good source of sulphur that helps produce strong nails, shiny hair and a healthy liver and pancreas. 

 

CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE

PB, V, DF, GF

Makes 1 serving

1 frozen banana, sliced

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 tbsp protein powder

1 Medjool date, pitted

1 tbsp peanut butter

1 cup (250 ml.) plant milk

1 cup ice, for hot summer days

Add the ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

CHOCOLATE NICECREAM

2 frozen bananas, sliced

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 Medjool dates

1 tbsp nut butter or peanut butter

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and process. Spoon into bowls, decorate with fruit and coconut flakes and eat immediately. Enjoy!
